Peter Gene Hernandez atau yang lebih dikenal dengan nama Bruno Mars lahir pada tanggal 8 Oktober 1985 di Honolulu, Hawaii. Dia merupakan seorang penyanyi Pop, Hip-Hop, Soul, R&B dan pencipta lagu California, Amerika Serikat. Ayahnya, Pete, seorang New Yorker, adalah pemain perkusi. Ibunya, Bernie, berdarah Filipina keturunan “Puerto Rico”, adalah seorang penari hula.

Bruno Mars mengawali karier tahun 2006, setelah menyelesaikan sekolahnya, dirinya pun hijrah ke Los Angeles. Kemudian Dia berkenalan dengan  Aaron Bay Schuck, yang akhirnya menjadi manajernya dan menawari kontrak di bawah nauangan “Atlantic Records”.

Bruno memulai karir sebagai penulis lagu untuk penyanyi lain. untuk album Alexandra Burke (’Perfect’ from “Overcome”), Travie McCoy (”We’ll Be Alright’ from “Lazarus”), Brandy (’Long Distance’ from “Human”), empat buah lagu untuk album “Tomorrow” milik Sean Kingston, juga mega hit Right Round dari album “ROOTS” oleh Flo Rida. He’s the bomb.

Tahun 2009, Bruno Mars menjadi guest appearance untuk album “Far East Movement” “Animal” di lagu ‘3D’, dan juga debut “Jaeson Ma” ‘Love’.

Grammy Awards 2011, Bruno munculnya dalam 6 kategori antara lain, “Best Rap Song, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration”, dan “Record Of The Year” untuk ‘Nothin’ On You’, “Record Of The Year” dan “Song Of The Year” untuk ‘F–k You’ yang dinyanyikan oleh Cee-Lo Green, “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance” untuk Just The Way You Are, dan “Producer Of The Year Non-classical” untuk trio The Smeezingtons.
